Ceramic is a New York based band led by singer, multi-instrumentalist John Scheaffer. The Pennsylvania native moved to Los Angeles and played with various bands in the mid-90’s. Upon moving back east and settling in New York City, he performed with local groups before striking out on his own as Ceramic. He was introduced to Mother West producer/engineer Charles Newman (Magnetic Fields) and the two began to develop Ceramic’s sound to include collaborating with musicians Kendall Jane Meade (Mascott, Helium), Margaret White (Sparklehorse, Cat Power), Todd Isler (Ivan Neville, Mike Gordon), and Alex Collier (The Weeks).
